Jordyn Michele Daines

Jordyn Michele Daines was born on March 4th at 10:08pm.  She weighed 8lbs 11oz and was 20.5ins long.  She has tons of dark hair just like her sister.  

For about two weeks my doctor really tried to see if she could get me to go into labor on my own but since that never worked out they induced me on the 4th.  I was really nerves because I didn't know what to expect but excited because I didn't have to go overdue this time.  I called the hospital at 6 am and they told me it was busy so they probably would not be able to get me in til noon.  I tried to go back to sleep ( I hadn't really slept all night just because I was nervous).  Blake and I had dropped Kenlee off with my parents the night before because we didn't know what time they would be able to get us in and then she could just get up and go to church with Grandma and Grandpa.  Blake and I slowly got ready and waited for the call.  At about 11:30 I called up to see how things were progressing with their schedule in Labor and Delivery and they nurse told me to head up.  I didn't have my hair done yet so I scrambled to finish getting ready and we headed to the hospital.  It took a little while to get all the paper work done but they finally came in and broke my water at about 1:30.  Things didn't start progressing on there own so they started a pit drip and we went from there.  It was so much easier this time around.  I didn't get nauseous with my contractions and I was able to hold out til I was dilated to a 5 before I got my epidural. I was in labor for about 8.5 hours and only pushed for 20 mins. 

 This is Jordyn's coming home outfit.  We came home from the hospital at 10:45pm on the 5th so no one really got to see her outfit but because she just wore it home I was able to dress her in it for people to see the next day.

Kenlee LOVES her baby sister.  She is such a little mommy.  Every time that Jordyn cries Kenlee has to go and get her bottle or binky or something to sooth her. She always drags people in to where the baby is and says "want to see my baby."  She is such a great big sister.

We are so grateful to have Jordyn join our family and can't wait to watch her grow.  Thank you to all our family and friends who have been so helpful and supportive. We love you.

Girl's Bedroom

Thanks to my wonderful sisters, we finally put the finishing touches on the girl's bedroom.  It turned out so cute.  I really wish I could take a picture of the whole room together because these pictures don't do it justice but I just had to try and show it off.

Isn't the crib we got so pretty? I am just so happy with it.

Happy Valentines Day!

This year we had a fantastic Valentines Day!! It started out with me actually sleeping the night before..... which made me VERY happy.  Kenlee and I spent the morning slowly getting ready and making sure we were wearing enough pink.  We then met Blake for our usual Taco Tuesday lunch.  It is always great to spend time with him.  After lunch Kenlee and I headed home for a nap..... which made both of us much happier people.  After nap Kenlee and I got the house cleaned up for Daddy to come home from work.  Blake came home with several very cute surprises for his girls.  Kenlee got a huge balloon and a beautiful red rose.  She was sooooo excited!  He brought me a gorgeous bunch of pink roses and chocolate dipped strawberries (my absolute favorites). I also got a great book that is filled with weekly family home evening lessons geared to young families and a cd-rom that has printable activities.  I had showed him this book when we were in Deseret Book a while ago and I really wanted it.

She was so excited about everything that she started asking me to take her picture and then she would run out in front of me and say "cheeeeeese" and then run back to see what the picture looked like.  Here is her Valentines photo shoot:

My mom made all of us a beautiful pillow case.  They turned out soooo cute.  Kenlee carried her pillow with her all night long with her "bee case."

I got Blake a tee shirt with Sheldon's face and catch phrase off of Big Bang Theory.

After dinner Blake's parents and April come over to bring us goodies.  The yummy cookies that we got were long gone by the time I thought to take a picture.  Kenlee also got another pillowcase that was purple with sparkle butterflies on it.  She called it her "purple case."

We had such a good time spending time together and after we all got cleaned up and in pjs for the night we relaxed and watched Ocean Thirteen.  It was so wonderful to spend time all of us together.  Thank you everyone for all your sweet and thoughtful gifts. Love You!

Blake's 26th Birthday Bash

Blake's actual birthdate is February 5th but he has been partying since the 4th and there is really no end yet.  I decided I need to write some of this down or I would forget things.  Saturday the 4th I took Blake out for his traditional dinner at Texas Roadhouse.  He looks forward to this all year.  He will never let me tell the waitress that it is his birthday but this year we got to see several other people have to sit on the saddle and everyone yell "yeeehaa." We usually just ignore it and continue with our dinner but Kenlee LOVED it and would yell with them so then Blake had to join in.  By the end of our dinner she was asking if we could yell again. I had planned on taking him for ice cream after dinner but we all way over ate so we opted to just go home.  Because his birthday was a Sunday this year I had to prepare his cheesecake that Saturday.  I am pretty sure that this was the best looking one so far.

Sunday morning before church Kenlee and I decorated the house for his birthday.  After that we gave Blake his gifts.  We got him 5 brand new ties.  I was only going to get 4 but Kenlee had to get her daddy the pink one.

 Before we left for church I had him stand under his birthday sign and takes some pictures, to show off his new tie and to just document. Doesn't he look so dapper......

Blake's birthday was also on the super bowel this year so the whole world was celebrating with us...... in a way. We went to Blake's parents house to party after church.  After a great dinner we settled in and watched the game.  Once the game was over we had cheese cake. Yummy!  This years request was butterscotch swirled in the cheesecake and butterfinger crumbled on top.  It turned out pretty good.

After cake we did more birthday gifts.  Blake's parents got him a really nice pair of golf shoes so that he could be all professional on the course.

His next party was on the following Sunday with my family.  Blake's pick for dinner was chicken enchiladas.  They were so good.  After dinner we went into the living room to open gifts.  Brock, Tiffany, Karlee, Brady and Nathan got Blake a GIANT bag of peanut butter M&Ms and Oceans Thirteen on Blu-ray.

 My parents got him a fabulous beach towel (so now when we go boating he will have his own) and the new movie Real Steal.  He has really wanted to see that movie and we never get a chance to see it because of his crazy busy schedule.  

 After gifts we had cake and sang Happy Birthday.  He had his traditional homemade red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.

After we were done we all went downstairs and watched Real Steel.  It was such a good couple of weeks and there is still more to come.   His request for his homemade birthday dinner is Lasagna but we have been so busy the last little while that I have not had the right amount of time home to make it so that will hopefully be dinner tomorrow (finally, sorry honey). And then because Blake's sister and brother and their families couldn't make it up for his birthday we will be celebrating with them on Sunday.  When all is said and done he will have been celebrating for over three weeks.  Spoiled boy.  With everything he does he totally deserves it!

36 Weeks

Well here we go....only 4 weeks left!!  Baby girl is still doing really well.  Today at my doctors appointment the doctor had to skip measuring me because she decided to sit with her butt straight out and she refused to move. Silly little girl! I am only dilated to a 1 and not really progressing.  Baby girl has still not settled into my pelvis but hopefully within the next week she will. At first this information seemed discouraging because I am really ready to have this baby but then my doctor decided that if I do not go by myself she would induce me March 4th!  I know it is only 4 days earlier then my due date but it is an ending point and after going a week over due with Kenlee it seems amazing to have an end date that is 4 days early. I hope my body cooperates, cross your fingers.....

I am smaller then I was with Kenlee at this point, I can still snap up my smack, which is good.... Hope the next few weeks don't drag out to long........

Tiffany and Brock's Wedding

On January 27th Tiffany, my sister, got married.  We are so excited to add Brock to our family.  The day could not have been more perfect.  The weather worked out perfectly for them. It was so beautiful.  Here are a few pictures I snapped in between professional pictures.

 Before we left for the wedding ceremony we had to youtube how to fold a pocket square and Blake discovered his new favorite website "the art of manliness."  Therefore we had to take pictures of his new dapper look :)

 

Kenlee didn't feel like taking pictures so she wandered around and hung out with Courtney.
