Tytan's 6 & 7 Month Update

Unfortunately because of how sick everyone was over the last little while Tytan's six month pictures never happened. So I decided just to do a update of the last two months together.

This little man is such a blessing in our lives.  He is such a genuinely happy boy.  As long as the essentials are covered: food, sleep, dry bum, he is happy and smiley. He now has four teeth and I never really knew he was teething.  The only real sign is that his poor bum burns while he is teething.  He has learned to sit up pretty stable over the last month and a half.  He loves it so much. Its the freedom he dreamed of.  This has opened up so many fun avenues for him.  Toys have been a big thing for him lately.  Tytan loves to push them, watch what they do and chase them around.  I am afraid that he will be crawling before we know it because he is so interested in movement.  If there is something going on, Tytan wants to be right in on the fun.  Do not try to lay him on his back.  He will flip right over and start twisting himself around til he finds something to do or fusses loud enough to get set up.

Tytan is still a small tiny kid.  At his six month appointment we found out that he is defiantly starting to move up the percentage chart but not quickly.  He was still considered 2% under but was almost on the 2% line.  We are hoping that at his 9 month appointment he will finally make it back on the chart. He eats a ton of food though and is strong, happy and healthy.  He just gets to be our Tiny Tytan. At 7 months old he is still wearing 3 to 6 month clothing and we are in a debate on whether to try to move him up a size or not because his pants are looking shorter and his onsie jammies are getting tight but everything else still looks so big on him.  To say he is awkward to dress would be an understatement.

Tytan still struggles with sleep.  Most of the time he will sleep through the night unless he is sick (which sadly most of our family has had colds for the past month or more) but his naps really can't be counted as naps.  We are trying to get him to take at least one long nap in the afternoon from around 12:30 to 3:00 but most days he only lasts til 2 or 2:30.  All his other naps are around 15 to 20 minutes long and then he is wide awake and wants to be moving again.  I am really hoping that I can break him of this soon because it makes it hard to get things done but at least he seems happy and content.

Tytan still loves his mommy and daddy a lot but has finally decided that not everyone is trying to steal him away from us.  He will let some people hold him for a while and has even started being good with Gammie and Poppy watching him while Blake and I are out.  He will still "red hulk" with most sudden movements and it is nearly impossible to get him up or down a set of stairs with out it happening. 

We Wish You a Merry Christmas

We kicked off our holiday celebrations Monday the 22nd. We spent the day making goodies for all our friends and neighbors.  The selections this year were red velvet fudge, rice krispy treats and Christmas shaped sugar cookies with green glaze on them.  We spent the evening delivering them. Our good friend Ty had a appointment so we started by running out to Richmond so that we didn't miss him.  Poor tired little Jordyn fell asleep on the way and was so out, Kenlee crawled around her again and again with out her even moving.  We seriously checked her breathing several times because she was so out.  We delivered all the plates of goodies and headed home.  When we pulled into the garage Jordyn finally woke up but was horrified to discover that she had missed out on delivering.  I could not handle how disappointed she was so I rushed downstairs and threw a plate together to let her take to another person. She was very happy after that and all disappointment was gone.  The evening ended in a success!

Tuesday was our traditional Eve before the Eve of Christmas sleep under the tree at my parents house.  We got packed and headed over around 4:45 and Blake met us after.  Once we got dinner ready which was pizza, Kenlee started to act weird, she was tired and wanted to just lay around. She would not eat and couldn't really tell us what was bothering her.  After a while of trying to figure her out we decided to pack back up and go home just in case. I will be honest, I was very disappointed when we left. It was my first year of missing this tradition and it broke my heart a little but after the long evening we endured with a very upset, feverish Kenlee I was grateful we had made that decision.

Wednesday morning didn't look very good, Kenlee was still super tired and really warm.  Sadly my thermometers battery was dead so I couldn't ever see how much of a fever she had but knowing my girl I knew it was bad enough.  She slept a good chunk of the day and finally broke her fever. We decided that because her only symptoms were a fever and being really tired we would try to go to Blake's parents for Christmas Eve dinner. She seemed like she was fine but she wouldn't try to do anything. She just wanted to be mopey and tired.   After a few hours of pushing her to get moving she seemed to finally pull out of her funk and we had a great evening with the Daines.  The girls got beautiful handmade Elsa and Anna dress up dresses and Tytan got a great toy train. Once we headed home we quickly got the kids to bed and prepared for Christmas Day.

Christmas morning was hilarious.  Kenlee was bubbling with excitement and was having a really hard time waiting for Tytan boy to eat (they had all slept til 9).  Jordyn just wanted food.  She looked at the couch with all the goodies and turned to me and said "Aaaahhh, you have not fed me yet."  I tried to show her that Santa had come and she just looked at me like I was crazy.  She just wanted food and was super mad at me for like 10 minutes. Then it was like reality set in and she was finally excited about Santa.  You never know what to expect from Jordyn. The kids had a great morning of opening gifts.  I did a lot of videos but not very many pictures. It is becoming difficult to catch every thing with three busy little kids.  Tytan did pretty good, he would get a hold of the wrapping paper and maybe if Jordyn would have given him the time he would have opened one but she couldn't wait and would always help him.  Once we had opened our Santa gifts we had our big breakfast and then opened up the family gifts under the tree. We hurried through and then got ready to head over to my parents to have our first Facetime chat with Elder Brady Ulrich.  It was amazing to see him and hear his voice again.  He looks so good and has such an amazing spirit about him.  We chatted with him for a while and heard several of his amazing experiences.  After our goodbyes we did a speed family gift opening with my family and then had our Christmas dinner.  Once things calmed down we spent the evening enjoying our new toys and visiting with our family.  It was so great.  Also Kenlee was 100% better all day and we enjoyed a healthy Christmas. YAY!

Because of their excitement and quick movements this is the only picture that turned out of them opening their dresses.  I will take pictures of them in them to post later.

We had a Frozen themed Christmas.  Santa brought Elsa for Kenlee, Anna for Jordyn and Olaf for Tytan.

Temple Square Lights 2014

It has become one of our family traditions to travel down to Salt Lake and see the lights at Temple Square.  Because we have froze every year so far, therefore forcing us to rush through and not even stop for pictures last year, we planned ahead and watched the weather from the beginning to pick the best day to go and it was beautiful. The weather was perfect, the lights were gorgeous and everyone had such a great time.  It was amazing to watch my sweet girls run around the lights and be drawn to the temple.  They truly felt how special of a place it was and we had many opportunities to answer their questions and talk about things.  After we had spent an hour looking at lights we were chilled enough to head back to the car and hungry so we headed to Red Robin which is definitely part of our tradition. After a delicious dinner we loaded up and headed back to Logan so that we could get the kids to bed because Kenlee had preschool the next day.  It was a great experience and I truly love these moments.

Jordyn loved all the lanterns and really wanted a picture with all of them but she wanted to be staring at them. Funny Girl!

Tiny Tytan loved the lights and was pretty content to be bundled up and in the stroller.

This was Tytan's first time in a highchair at a restaurant.  He LOVED it!

Poor Girl had a rough 24 hours. She feel out of the stroller on the way back to the car from the football game and took off her nose then the next morning she slipped in a puddle at Walmart and belly flopped on the floor. That night at Gammy and Poppi's she took her cheek out on the side of the counter.

Tytan's Five Months Old

The last five months have been so amazing with this little man.  He is generally a happy little guy as long as the basics are covered: fed, changed and not tired.  He is the first of our kids that is ok with playing with toys, hanging out in a swing or on the floor or playing with his toes.  He doesn't like to be left alone in a room but as long as someone is there, including his sisters playing, he is chill.  He has the biggest smile that seems to take up his whole face.  You can not help but smile or even laugh when you see him smile.  He still rarely laughs out loud but we are starting to hear it a little bit more.  He LOVES his sisters and smiles at them a lot.  We love this little man and love that he is a part of our little family.
