Dirty Helping Hands

For family home evening this week we went over to help my sweet Grandma Tuke with her yard.  She has had vertigo the last few weeks and hasn't been able to get out much.  We focused mainly on weeding.  Kenlee was of course a very big helper.  She had dirt EVERYWHERE.  It was the cutest thing ever.

The Big 24

It's My Birthday Week.  That's right I said week.  My birthday was actually on Tuesday but we have been celebrating off and on since Sunday.  We always do a big birthday party with my family on the first day that everyone is available and is closest to the actually date.  This day happened to be the Sunday before my birthday.  So we started out with our usually tradition and did one of our first big barbaques.  The men grilled LOTS of hamburgers and the ladies did the salads and drinks.  After we had all enjoyed our wonderful meal we decided to do gifts because Tiffany and Karlee were too excited to wait any longer (it was hilarious and backwards).  Tiffany and Brock & Karlee and Colton got me a set of bleach trays to whiten my teeth.  I have really be self-conscious of my teeth for a while now so I have been VERY excited about this. My mom and dad got me a new candle wax warmer (Kenlee knocked mine off the shelf and broke it resently, I was heart broken because I use it all the time) and then two new fabulous shirts that included a new Coca-cola shirt (my old one is looking a little worse for wear). My sweet Grandma Tuke got me the beautiful necklace that I am wearing in the picture below.

After gifts we headed out to play a little basketball, we do this a lot through out the summer.  (I guess this was my attempt to make the day calorie free....)  Then we did cake, my mother made my favorite angel food cake with chocolate pudding white topping frosting.  Thanks Mom!

I just had to through this one in because it was hilarious.  Kenlee has discovered a new game recently, she tries on shoes.  No ones shoes are safe.....

Tuesday we started out the party by having a girls lunch at Angies after institute.  It was SO fun!  We even had the chance to steal Tiffany from work and have her go with us.  Blake made me enchiladas for dinner and we had just about everyone one there again except poor Karlee and Colton who had to work. Tiffany made cake batter cookies for me and they were delicious.  When we got home that night Blake gave me his gift.  He got me two new beautiful shirts and a gift card to Amazon because I have been looking at some cook books on there and still don't know which one I want.  What a sweetheart for knowing just what I wanted.

Jordyn's Blessing

We blessed Jordyn on Sunday, May 6th.  It was such an amazing day.  We had so much support from family and friends who traveled to help us celebrate Jordyn's big day.  Because Jordyn was sick (and not just from the shots as we later learn) I was really nervous she would cry through her blessing but once again we were luck and she did not.  At one point in the blessing I hear her start to fuss but the stopped fairly quickly.  Afterward Blake told me that the she had knocked the bow down and it had covered her eyes, which she HATES but Brian, Blake's dad was able to remedy the situation and pull the bow back up.  It was such a beautiful blessing, Blake did an amazing job! I really appreciate him being such an awesome father and worthy priesthood holder. 

We had a wonderful luncheon after the blessing at my parents house.  We had been planning the luncheon to be outside and each time we checked the weather the day looked more and more sketchy.  We decided to risk it anyway and it turned out to be a perfect day for it.

Thank you everyone who came and helped celebrate this special day with us.   We love you all.  And a special thanks to my parents who let us invade there house and yard on such short notice.  We appreciate all that you do.   

Two Month Update

Here are some updates on our newest addition......

On May 3rd we took her into the doctor for her two month checkup, she is a very healthy and busy little girl. Her stats were:

Weight:  12lbs 2.5oz   90%

Height:   23in.   80%

Head Measurement: 15 1/4 in.     60%

She also had her first rounds of shots.  If you haven't had the opportunity to see Jordyn's sad pouty face, she is a PRO.  As soon as they stuck her legs her lower lip stuck out and she turned on the alligator sized tears.  It was heart breaking.  I thought it would get easier to handle with each child but boy was I wrong.  

The next week was kind of rough..... She just kept screaming at me.  I truly thought she was just reacting to her shots and that I had had it super easy with Kenlee.  After a week of her being in miserable pain I broke down and took her to the doctor.  We had tried switching her formula to a similac sensitive but apparently it does NOT agree with her.  But because they had happened at about the same time I didn't realize that it was making her so sick until almost a week later.  The doctor decided that she was a colic baby and has acid reflux.  We have her switched back to her normal formula and put her on some reflux meds.  She has been a much happier girl since then.  Because of this drama though I don't have a lot of two month pics.  Her are a few of the cute ones.....
