Rolling into a New Stage

Jordyn has really started moving.  For the last week she has been so close to rolling over.  Suddenly tonight she did it!  And once she figured it out she tried it two more times in a row. I can't believe she is already getting so active.  What a big girl!

First Boating Trip of 2012

Friday was one of the hottest days so far so we packed up and head to Cutler to go boating. Unfortunately Blake had to work so it was just me and the girls.  Poppi got started getting the boat ready and Kenlee became so super excited!  She also found a purple life jacket which made her day.

Because there are so many people that go with us now we had to take turns on the boat.  The first group included Kenlee and Me.  We left Jordyn on the shore with Grandma to sun bathe. :) Kenlee LOVED it!  She would laugh when we went over bumps and cheer to "do it again Poppi." While we were deciding who was going to ski first Kenlee and Tiffany went swimming.  It was so fun, I really wish I had had my camera (silly mom left it on shore). Kenlee truly is a fish, she loves being in water and has gotten pasted her fear of not touching in water.  

When we were done cheering Brady on as he learned to wake board and clapping for Poppi as he showed us how it was done, we headed back to shore because Kenlee had gotten cold when the sun went behind the hills.  Tiffany and Brady stayed on shore with the girls and me. At that point I finally remembered to get out my camera and snap some pictures.

After a little while the mosquitos made us their targets for dinner so we escaped to the warmth and safety of the little Mirage.

Taking Two to the Zoo

To continue our summer fun we took our little cuties to Hogle Zoo. When we first arrived the parking lot was CRAZY full and the lines for tickets were forever long.  I was super worried we wouldn't get to wonder the park as freely as I was hoping.  But once we found a parking spot (which was in the boonies) and got our tickets (poor Blake had to brave the line while I tried to keep the girls out of the way) it was really a very nice trip.  Even with all the people we were still free to see and move at our own pace. The first animal that we went to see was the elephants.  As soon as Kenlee realized that the animals were real she panicked. With Blake's help she finally stopped screaming and timidly watched the elephants.  She thought it was funny that they ate their breakfast with their noses.

Thinking we were in the clear we tried to move on to see the rhinos.  Kenlee began to panic again.  Blake and I took her aside and had a chat with her, reassuring her that the big fences keep the animals away from her and that she was safe and that if all else failed, Dad would punch the animals if they tried to get her.  Kenlee thought it was a great idea.  When we went into finally see the rhinos she yelled "Daddy Daddy boom them, boom them (punch them, punch them).  What a girl.  She did pretty good after that and became very excited about all the other animals.

The new polar bear exhibit was awesome!  The polar bear was such a show off.  He did tricks and dove into the water.  He came into the enclosed area and stood on his back legs and scratched his back on the chain fence like Baloo off of Jungle book.  Instead of scaring Kenlee more, Kenlee thought it was AMAZING.  It stood right in front of her and scratched its back, towering over her by several feet. She loved it and kept telling us the the polar pooh (pooh is every bear)  was tall!

Kenlee loves Giraffes and had been talking about them since we had told her we were going to the zoo.  She really really wanted to see a baby giraffe but there were none to be found.  She still loved to see the "tall" ones.  I had dressed both the girls in cute giraffe print outfits and had hoped to get a cute picture of them both with the giraffes but when we arrived at the giraffes Jordyn had decided to nap.  I don't ever wake my sleeping baby :) So we just had pictures with Kenlee in her cute outfit.

Kenlee had also decided she wanted to see the Roars (tigers or lions).  She was a little apprehensive about them walking around above her but still was in awe over the cool tigers.

Thanks to Hogle Zoo there are amazing photo opportunities with bronze statues of the different animals.  Here is one with Kenlee and her cousin McKenzie at the tiger area.

Jordyn spent most of her zoo adventure hiding from the sun in her stroller so I took some pictures of her cuteness! She did pretty good after she was fed and we finally found a bathroom to change her diaper.  She slept for a good portion of the park and then hung out til about the end when she got super hot.  Jordyn is very picky about temperature.

By the end of the park both girls were starting to get tired and hungry and way too hot.  Even with these factors we still got some cute pictures.

We had such a good time at the zoo and it was awesome to have the day together as a family and steal us all away from work and chores and such!

3 Months Old

I can't believe how fast the time is flying.  Our baby girl is 3 months old!!! She is growing like a weed. Her neck gets stronger every day. Now her hair is long enough to put in a little pony tail on top of her head.  She smiles a lot now and has also laughed a few times.  The acid reflux meds have continued to help her, we are so grateful for that!  Jordyn continues to be a little bit of a mommy's girl...... ok a big mommy's girl.

To celebrate her 3 month birthday we took her to Clair's in the mall to get her ears pierced.  She actually did very well and was way more upset about being restrained then the actually piercing.

So Summer Begins.....

So far we have had a very full summer.....lots of fun and excitement!  We have been VERY busy but have managed to have a lot of fun as well.

About a week and a half ago my Grandpa Roberts fell and broke his hip.  Of course we all decided to go up to Idaho and visit him.  As unfortunate as it was that he broke his hip, it was wonderful to get out of the valley and go on a family road trip.  We had lunch at Big J's and had a very nice visit with Grandpa.  Grandpa is slowly doing better and we continue to pray for his recovery.

Also this summer we have already had a fabulous pool day!  Kenlee is still in LOVE with her pool. If we would let her she would live in it all summer :).

Blake got out my dad's super soaker and joined in the water fun.  Kenlee let him use her as target practice.  It was hilarious!

Jordyn tried on her cute new bathing suit but decided it was still too cold to get in. 

Over the last couple of months Kenlee has discovered her newest calling in life..... pedicures.  She likes to paint to be more specific.  She hates if any women do not have their toenails painted and Grandma got caught the other day. Being such a good sport, Grandma let Kenlee paint her toenails.  

It looks a little like a horror movie but not bad for a 2 year old :)

Just about every Sunday evening that we spend at my parents house we end up playing basketball.  We usually play war with everyone who wants to.  My sweet little Kenlee loves to play and it is so stinking cute about it.

So I used to give my mother endless amounts of grief for dressing us girls alike.  Now I can't help but do it myself.  They are so stinken cute in their monkey shirts aren't they?!?  (Even with Kenlee's post nap hair)
