Easter weekend was packed with a lot of amazing fun and tons of candy. We started off Saturday morning by heading in to Lee's to quickly do the Easter Bunny trail and see our Daddy. Both of the girls were very excited about the idea of seeing Daddy's friend the Easter Bunny, that is until they actually got to meet him then Jordyn screamed and hide behind me while Kenlee hide until Daddy could stand between her and the scary bunny. I swear one of these years I will have a picture of all my kids with the bunny and no screaming. After gathering lots and lots of treats around Lee's we kissed our Daddy good bye and headed to Idaho to visit with family and have another egg hunt. It was sad to leave Blake behind but because of a perfect storm of events there was no possible way for him to get off work.
As soon as we got to Laretta's house we settled in for a very delicious dinner of Sloppy Joe's, chips, salads, and yummy homemade oreo cookies and buttermilk pie. It was amazing! We had a great time chatting and catching up with my cousin Cami who lives in Colorado now. Her and her family came for a short visit so we organized the Easter hunt so we could spend some time together. Jordyn and Liyla, Cami's little girl, had a great time playing together and Jordyn still talks about the cute little girl at Laretta's house. The afternoon was filled with a very wind egg hunt, tons of laughs and great conversations. It was sad to go home. I can't wait until they come to visit again. By then I should be able to meet my cousins new little bundle who should arrive soon.
Easter Sunday was a very relaxing day. Kenlee woke up pretty early and found that the Easter bunny had been to her house. She was so excited but we had to wait for brother and sister to wake up. When they finally were awake they ran into the kitchen to see their baskets. This years baskets were amazingly simply but packed with fun, the bunny did great. Also I had put the girls skirts that I made for them in with their basket stuff. They turned out so adorable and I hope to be able to make a few more for Kenlee as soon as I get a new sewing machine. Once the baskets had been looked over we hunted for the eggs around our house. Watching those cuties run around and their eyes lighting up when they found an egg was wonderful.
We had the great opportunity of watching General Conference and enjoying the true meaning of Easter. It was a great way to focus on our Savior this Easter holiday. After the first Sunday session we took a break to stretch our legs with the kids and went outside to test out the bubble the girls had each gotten in their baskets. The bubble wounds were so cool. They make lots of big bubbles fast with out having to get light headed blowing them. We also tested out the chalk.
We watched the second Sunday session and then headed over to my parent's house for a yummy ham and cheese potato dinner. We spent the time visiting and then did a funny egg hunt. The bunny at Gammie and Poppy's house decided that it was cold so the eggs were pretty easy to find but it was hilarious to run around gathering eggs.
Since we had had such a fun packed weekend we didn't get to color our eggs until Monday night. This year was one of the first years I felt like we could have a lot of children participation. It was so much more fun with the girls drawing on their eggs and picking the colors and how dark the colors should be. I only did a dozen eggs and we lost one in the process but next year I will defiantly do two dozen because the fun ended far to early.
