Easter 2014: Family Parties

This year to try and help out our girlies, the Daines' decided to do their Easter party Saturday evening.  I was so grateful for this change because I feel like when we run around from party to party in one day the girls end up feeling frustrated and rushed, making it hard for everyone to just enjoy the holiday.

Blake got off of work a little after 5 and we all hurried to get ready and over to the Grandma and Grandpa Daines' house by 5:30 to start the egg hunt. When we got to the house the girls found out that their cousin Kenzi had brought a fun surprise for everyone, purple fuzzy bunny ears!  They are the cutest things ever and all three little bunnies running around was the funnest thing ever. 

Once everyone was all gathered at the house and the Easter bunny had finished hiding all the eggs we all went out to watch the cute little girls run around looking for eggs and other surprises. Besides the normal small eggs hidden, each girl found a big egg with special candy, character jewelry and a kite.  Kenlee ended up with Princess Sofia jewelry and a Cinderella kite.  Jordyn found the Doc McStuffins kite almost right away and her special egg had Doc McStuffins jewelry. Each girl had a great time searching the whole yard for all the little eggs.

 After the egg hunt we sent the men out to grill up some hamburgers and hot dogs while the girlies looked threw their baskets and the women got the rest of dinner ready. It was such a great day to be able to grill and enjoy the spring weather.  Afterwards we spent the rest of our visit chatting about what was going on in everyone's lives and letting the girls have some play time.  Around 8 we headed home to get the girls in the tubby and ready for bed.

Sunday morning we woke up around 7 to two excited little girls who found their baskets and started yelling that the Easter Bunny had come to their house.  I am pretty sure that both girls were completely spoiled.  Each girl got new sheets for their beds, fun bandages, fruit snacks, rice crispy treats, a book and a spoon and fork set.  They also got the brand new Tinkerbell movie, Pirate Fairies. Kenlee was so stinking excited about the movie and couldn't help but dance around when she found it on the table.

While Kenlee wanted to see what the bunny had left on the table, Jordyn was so excited about all the eggs hidden around the living room and before we knew it she had already started gathering eggs. Blake told Kenlee that she better start looking for eggs or Jordyn would find them all and so Kenlee began her search as well.  It was great to see both girls so excited and running all over the living room looking for all the eggs.  Jordyn kept looking around saying "wheres those eggs."

Because we didn't have time to empty their baskets before Jordyn started the hunt daddy became their baskets.  What a good daddy!

Once our egg hunt was over and both girls had finally looked through their baskets we all got ready for church.  We had a great Easter Sunday!  After lunch and a quick nap we headed over to Gammie and Poppie's house to have dinner and do another egg hunt. At this point the girls were such pros at egg hunts that they gathered their eggs plus some.  After looking for a while we had to empty their baskets to see how many eggs we had and how many more we still needed to find.  Good thing they were the only children because the adults didn't mind the cuties gathering up all the eggs.

Since the girls were so excited about finding eggs the bunny ears soon became too hard to keep on their heads and daddy ended up with them.  Love the new look!

After the egg hunt we went inside to empty our baskets.  Each girl got the cutest new jungle earrings, a lace shirt and bright socks.  Mommy got yummy energizing lotion and Daddy got an awesome new tire pressure checker and we both got a CD set with several talks on strengthening marriages. All of us got our usual surprise Lego packets (except Jordyn who got a small princess doll since she is still too little.) Blake of course ended up with the girl Lego again.

After three egg hunts I can't even explain the amount of treats we have in our house.  I am so glad we got to enjoy our Easter with both families.
