Trip to the Farm/ Health Days

This last weekend was really busy but so much fun. We started out Friday by going to Bear Lake to visit my Grandpa for his Birthday and to see our family. The weather was perfect so Kenlee convinced Aunt Laretta to go outside. When we got out there Kenlee was so excited to see the cows and was doing a little dance and squealing at them. She would look at us and give us a HUGE smile then turn back to the cows and bend down so she could look at them better. It was hilarious to watch. We figure that this is really the first time she has seen the cows because she was so young last summer and when its winter you just hurry in to get out of the cold.

Then Cheryl brought Tayson to come play with Kenlee and they found the garden and decided to throw dirt at each other. It was so funny that I just kept taking pictures so thats why I did the slideshow. Those two cuties were so covered in dirt but they had a great time.

Tayson also taught Kenlee about the piano peddles :) They played so well together, no big crying fights.

Kenlee also got to see Kolin's dog. She thinks all these animals are so cool but she will not touch them. She will still get really close to them so she isn't scared of them she just thinks its weird to touch them.
On Saturday it was Smithfield's Health Days and so that morning we attended the parade. The best part was that Kenlee's buddy Tayson came to play again! Two days in a row was so awesome! Kenlee brought her purse to put candy in.

When they got tired or bored of part of the parade (cause it was a LONG parade) they would go and sit on the curb. Of course they were too cute to resist taking pictures of so I took more :)
After the parade Kenlee and I went to a bridal shower for Hannah (my soon to be sister-in-law). She got to see her cousin Kenz and Aunt Jess who live down in Lehi, we are always glad when they come up to play.

Easter 2011

We had so much fun with Easter this year. Kenlee loved hunting eggs and was quite the pro at it too. I had sooooo many pictures that I loved so I tried this new slide show thing. Hope you like it :)

Spring Updates

I know that I haven't posted much over the winter but I wanted to do a spring update of our resent activities. Kenlee loves to be creative whether it is coloring or dancing so I decided to be brave and try playdough. It was really fun actually, I just made sure that she had a binky so that she would hopefully not end up putting some in her mouth. She thought it was very weird stuff but once I showed her what it was for she really got into it. Near the end she started throwing it and yelling "ball" so we put it away.

We have discovered that she LOVES the outdoors. She would live outside if we would let her. I am pretty sure that when the weather finally warms up that we are going to have a hard time keeping her in. One of the few days that the weather was good we took her to the park. She had a blast. She spent the first 15 minutes trying to climb the slide that was almost straight up. The funny thing is she almost made it! She has some major buff little legs, must get that from her dad not me :) We sent her down the long twisted slide by herself and she yelled "WEEEEE!!!" the whole way down. She would run back up the stairs and want to go again and again.

Another thing that I am trying to let her help me with is cooking. This was our first attempt and it went pretty good. We made dad some brownies for dessert. When I grabbed the camera she looked around and then stuck her finger in the mix when she thought I wasn't looking.

Then she realized she had been caught and so she turned on the cute. She stuck her finger in her mouth and smiling said mmmmmm.... :) she is so funny!

That's the beginning of our spring and I promise I will be better about posting.

Kenlee's 18 Month Mark

Kenlee was 18 months old on Saturday, crazy right? She has been growing so much. She attended nursery for the first time on Sunday and did very well. The leaders said she was super quite but I bet she grows out of that one. She LOVES books. She loves to do puzzles and to play with her fisher price doll house. She loves ring-around-the-rosies. Some of the words she says are: puppy, baby, mommy, daddy, mama (grandma), papy (grandpa), shoes, ball, cheese, teef (teeth). She loves to be like Mommy and Daddy. She wants to bring her purse when we go places and wants to tie a tie while daddy gets his on for work. Her daddy is her best buddy and mommy's big helper.

She is little miss sassy.

But she loves to smile!

Blake's Birthday

This year Blake had a full birthday week. It started the Thursday before his birthday. We went bowling at Logan Lanes. Blake had one of his best games ever, he scored a 155. Kenlee cheered us on. Then we took Kenlee to the mall so she could play in the soft play area. She had a blast playing peek-a-boo through the giant fake soda cup. That night we meet Mitch and Hannah at Texas Roadhouse and had his big birthday dinner. We had a great time, Blake got his steak that he loves and I had a burger. He threatened all of us not to tell the waitress it was his birthday. I wanted to but I knew he would only get me back for my birthday. On the way home, even though we were stuffed, Blake wanted to stop at Subzero for ice cream. What a full day, and it was only the beginning.

Saturday, the 5th of February, was his actual birthday. He had to work during the day because it was the day before the super bowl and it was busy. So Kenlee and I spent the day getting ready for his party. His request for dinner was a homemade lasagna. I was nervous it wouldn't turn out but it was actually way better then I expected. After we had dinner, we had Blake's family come over for cake and icecream. I made him a raspberry cheesecake.

Sunday was the Super Bowl and so we all gathered at the Daines. Mitch had planned a party for us this year. The food was amazing! Steak, chips, dips, soda and the best part........STICKY FINGERS from Wingers! The game was fun too but unfortunately my team lost :(

The Thursday after his birthday was my family's party for him. Mom and Tiffany made him a red velvet cake and for dinner we had cordon bleu pasta. It was yummy. My family did themed gifts this year. The theme was "KING OF THE GRILL." He got all his grilling necessities.

All in all I think he had a pretty sweet birthday. Thanks to all our family!

Christmas 2010

I know that I am really late posting about Christmas but I didn't really get a lot of pictures so I wasn't sure how to do it and then had almost decided to not but I would eventually like to print a book of our blog and didn't want this post missing from it so here it is.

This year our Christmas fun started the Thursday before Christmas. My family always gets together the eve before the eve of Christmas to sleep under the Christmas tree as a family. Unfortunately Kenlee got sick that afternoon and was running a fever over 102 degrees. She wasn't showing any other symptoms so we decided we would go over and see how things went. We made homemade pizza and had a very fun evening. This year we all slept downstairs so that we would not feel like sardines in a can. Kenlee did really well considering how crummy she felt. She only woke up twice and one of them was because Karlee's radio alarm scared her. We thought that she had finally broke her fever when we all got up Friday morning so we went on to more fun plans.

Friday night was with the Daines family. We went over and had dinner with the family. I made a pie to take over for dinner because I wanted to practice making pie crust. It turned out really good. Kenlee had started running a fever again and was pretty miserable. We were waiting to have the Batts come home so we could open the family gifts so we just let her sleep on my lap and watched A Muppet Christmas Carol. The Batts came home and we all opened our fun family gifts. After that we took our sick baby home and tried to finish up some traditions. We all opened our Christmas pj's and then put out a plate for Santa. Kenlee was done after that and we put her to bed in hopes she would feel better for Christmas.

When we woke up Christmas morning Kenlee was still running a fever so we didn't take many pictures of everything but here is some of what it looked like.

We just took things slowly and let her nap when she needed to and she was a trooper. She still got excited to rip off the wrapping paper and loved playing with her toys. We still had a good Christmas even with her sick.

The Monday after Christmas was the Seamons Christmas party. We had such a great time. This year Blake's cousin Drew was in charge of games and he did some of the games off of "Minute to Win It." It was so so fun! Also Blake's Aunt Kathy and Aunt Debbie made the cutest little denim purses for all the little girls. Kenlee loves to carry hers around and put the little play jewelry on.

For New Years we went up to Idaho to visit with all of my family. I love getting together and playing games and eating great food. We had soup and rolls, it was so good! After we had eaten we went and played some card games to let our food settle. After we could all move again we had our traditional volleyball game. Blake played while I watched Kenlee because I am not coordinated enough to play. :)

We had such a great holiday season and were so blessed to be able to spend the time together with our families.

First Time in the Snow

Blake had the day off on Thursday and so we decided the weather was decent and we would take Kenlee out to play in the snow. She had never really been in the snow so it took her a while to get used to it but when she did she loved.

Grandpa Daines took Kenlee around the house in the sled, she didn't want him to stop. She had a hard time staying in but she got the hang of it.
