Marching Band Parents Night

Yesterday we attended Sky View and Moutain Crests Marching Band Parents Night. This year Karlee and Brady are marching in the band so it was a new treat to try and spot two people that look like everyone else. Brady is a freshman and Karlee is a senior this year. Karlee gets to play a duet with a friend of hers. It sounds amazing!

There show has influences from Japan. They have these really cool drums that the percussion director and his son made for an eagle scout project. They turned out way cool. This was my favorite part with them.

I am so excited for the band this year, they have an amazing show. Good luck Karlee and Brady, I know you will do awesome. Love you guys!

Play Ball!

Kenlee found a little soccor ball in the toy closet at my parents house and brought it out to show everyone. She started throwing it and Brady would go and get it. She finally picked up on the idea of throwing it to Brady and they played catch. She thought that it was hilarious.

Kenlee is ONE!

Kenlee turned one on August 26th! The year went by so fast! She has grown and changed so much over the last year. When she was born she was 9 pounds 1 ounce and 21.5 inches long. Now she is 21 pounds and 30.5 inches long.

For her birthday party we decided to do a big BBQ with all our family in my parents backyard. Just about everyone was able to come.

She did pretty good at opening her presents and loved the attention.

We did a Prince and the Frog themed birthday party for her because she loves that movie. There for I made her frog cupcakes for her cake this year.

She loved her cake! She ate the frosting very fast and then went for the cake.

First Trip To Hoogle Zoo

Blake and I have been talking for awhile now about going to Hoogle Zoo because I had never been there. The trip just never seemed to work out. Now that we have Kenlee we decided we needed to get down to the Zoo. Kenlee has really started to love animals, especially cats, so we knew that she would love the zoo.

This is a gorilla's hand print compared to Blake and Kenlee. It was a funny difference in size for them.

The animals were all out and active the whole time we were in the zoo. It was so fun, the monkeys were swinging around and chasing each other. The elephant was eating and walking around. Even the big tortoise was slowly walking and eating his leaves. Kenlee was able to see a lot of the animals because of this. When the monkeys jumped from branch to branch she would scream in excitement.

We loved the photo opportunities with the bronze statues.

Blake loved the water fountains! We took several pictures.

We had such a great day at the zoo and I think everyone enjoyed themselves a lot. It was a the perfect day to go to the zoo.

Funny Girl

For about the last week Kenlee has really started to copy what we do. When she does something good or funny we all tend to clap for her, now she claps with us. Sometimes when she thinks she has done something worth clapping for she will clap for herself and look around at everyone wondering why they are not clapping too. One of the funny things she has started to do is put her hands on her head when we look at her and say "OH NO". She laughs so hard after she does it. I finally caught a little on camera, she didn't do both hands but the face she made was priceless!

Wow the Mess!

Sunday afternoon while we were over at my parents house for dinner, we all were talking in the kitchen while we got dinner ready. My mom opened the cupboard to get the grill out to make hash browns. Kenlee crawled over to the gallon bottle of oil and before anyone of us noticed she had spilled 1/2 of it on the ground and was playing in it. The lid on the oil must have not been twisted on so she just popped it off.

She was so covered in oil that she was glossy. It was all over her hands, arms and legs.

She couldn't understand why we were all laughing and trying to figure out the best way to take care of her.

When we tried to pick her up to put her in the bath tub we realized she was dripping alot of oil so we decided to put her bottom half in a walmart bag and then hurried her into the bathroom. She was so confused.

Oh I love my little girl. I am just glad that I could calmly laugh about it and then take some pictures. I have always wanted to be a calm parent and each time she does something I just try to remind myself of that. She is so cute.

Lagoon Day!

Every few years my dad's company has a party at Lagoon and invites the families. This year is was on the 10th of July. We all went down, even Blake happened to have work off and got to go. We got there right after the park opened. We split up at first, those of us that love big roller coasters and those that wanted to just do little fun rides. My dad, Tiffany, Karlee and I went for the roller coasters. Brady joined us for a few and then meet up with Blake, Kenlee, Nathan and my mom. We ran from line to line till we had done what we wanted and then meet up with the group. They were at the bumper cars (that is the only thing Nathan could talk about doing).

Blake loved them! It was hilarious to watch him! After I had watched him ride the bumper cars, they talked me into doing it too. It was a lot of fun.

Kenlee was just chilling in the stroller so we decided to go find something that she could ride. While we had been split up, they had been standing near the carousel while Blake visited with Lancasters, Kenlee freaked out, she wanted to ride on them so bad. So we decided to take her on them.

Blake took her on so that I could take pictures. She was so excited and while they were waiting for it to go she kept rocking back and forth, trying to make it move.

After we had eaten lunch we decided to hit a few more roller coasters. I had Blake watch me ride one of them called "The Bat" and take pictures.

This was a whole new experience for me. I had never rode on one that had your feet hanging down like you were flying around on a chair. I loved it!

After the roller coasters we took Kenlee on the train ride to see all the animals. Unfortunately my camera battery died right before the ride. She had a great time and loved seeing the animals. We had a great Saturday at Lagoon with the family. We even got Blake to try "Rattle Snake Rapids" ride with us and I think he even liked it.
