Merry Christmas 2012

This last week has been an amazing blur of memories, family, friends and parties.  We started out with a trip to Salt Lake on Thursday... then I spent Friday and Saturday finish up Christmas projects and shopping that had been procrastinated... oops! Because of my procrastination we stayed up til 2:30 Sunday morning warping gifts. Then Sunday was our traditional Eve of the Eve of Christmas party.  We all gathered at my moms house (except Karlton who were celebrating in Hawaii but we know they were there in spirit) and ate homemade pizza and then watch two movies, The Muppet Christmas Carol & Brave, then we all slept "under" the Christmas tree.  Because of large amount of people we have had to move the actual sleeping to the basement but we still consider this under the tree since the living room with the tree in it is right above part of the family room.

I spent most of Christmas Eve hanging out at my parents house and hoping the snow storm would blow over so that I won't have to drive in it.  Sadly the storm only got worse and I could barely make it home in my little Mirage. After Blake and I had spent an hour digging out our driveway we headed over to the Daines to have dinner.  We had a wonderful dinner of soup and cinnamon rolls and then opened our gifts from them.  After a great evening we headed home to open our pjs and get the girls down to sleep.  Kenlee helped set out a treat for Santa and scooted of the sleep.  Luckily both girls were sound asleep in 20 minutes and we were able to get things ready for Christmas and settle in ourselves.

Kenlee and Jordyn let us sleep in to about 9:30 and then our morning was in full swing... Kenlee was a little timid at first.... like she had been told it wasn't aloud for weeks and didn't want to get in trouble.... but after we persuaded her that it was ok she was SO EXCITED!! We spent the morning opening and playing with Santa gifts.  Kenlee received the Cinderalla lego set that she had asked Santa for and Jordyn got the Jumperoo that mommy had asked for her :)

Santa brought Blake batman cuff links and a pineapple and I got an amazing giraffe print purse that I have wanted for a long time.

 We finally had breakfast/lunch at about 11:45 and then moved on to the gifts under the tree. Jordyn wasn't interested in opening gifts at all.  Kenlee would try and cheer her on, but then would jump in and open it for her.  It was hilarious. They made a good team... Jordyn would play with Kenlee's opened toys and Kenlee would open Jordyn's gifts.

After we were done with gifts we all got ready for the day and headed over to my parents house for the evening.  We had a traditional Christmas dinner and it was amazing.  After dinner we opened even more gifts (yes my girls are very spoiled.... those pictures did not include the stuff from my family).  I was so wrapped up in helping my girls with their gifts I forgot to pull out my camera.... I am hoping my mom or sister has some pictures for me.  After gifts Tiffany and Brock headed off to yet another party (they had already been to several) and so we hung out with my parents and the boys for a while.  The girls were both super tired from our holiday fun and fighting colds so we got them ready for bed.  These are the Christmas jammies.......

Then we headed home to get some very needed sleep and try to prepare for more fun.  The next day was our traditional shopping day.  We always head out and see what deals we can get with our Christmas money that our grandparents send us. Then Thursday we spent the day doing even more shopping and then had Blake's family down to see what we had got for Christmas.  Friday I enlisted Blake's help with Project Day #1.  I have so many things that I need his help with before he heads back to school so we will probably end up with at least 3 or 4 of these days.  Then Saturday was Blake's annual work Christmas party.  Blake and I dropped off the girls at my parents and then headed for Maddox to enjoy a good evening with great food and fun company. Wow what a great time to spend with our family and friends. This was such a great Christmas season!

Lights at Temple Square

For years Blake and I have wanted to go to see the lights at Temple Square and each year we have seemed to come up with a reason why is wasn't going to work.  This year we decided to make it a priority and with gas prices finally dropping we decided to take advantage and go on a family road trip.  The Thursday before Christmas seemed to work out great so we planned the trip.  Thursday morning we woke up to Blake still not feeling the best from the cold he had started with earlier in the week and Kenlee had started showing symptoms as well so I really wondered if we shouldn't postpone the trip yet another year.  Luckily by early afternoon, with a little medication, both were feeling good enough to go so we packed up and headed out...

It was absolutely gorgeous!  I truly hope that we can make this part of our holiday traditions because it really helped set the Christmas spirit.

Unfortunately this was as close to family pictures we got.... but still super cute.

After we spent about an hour look at the different nativity scenes and beautiful light displays we head to get some food and warm up. It was such a great family trip,  I love building these memories with my Sweet girls and Wonderful husband.

SNoWy Fun

Kenlee has been begging me to play in the snow and build Frosty for weeks.  I promised her that as soon as we got snow I would take her out in it.  I was just crossing my fingers that we didnt have a winter like last year the would make me a liar.  Luckily a few weeks ago we go enough snow that we could take a day and play.  We decided to head over to my parents house so that someone could keep an eye on Jordyn while I played with Kenlee. After a quick lunch we realized that we should just take Jordyn out with us.... at least for a while.  We tried to dress as warm as possible and headed out to the snow!

 Since I hadn't originally planned to take Jordyn out with us I hadn't come prepared to dress her for the occasion. We made do with any random left over from when my brothers were little and came up with this cute puffy bundle......

The anticipation of going out to the snow was to much for Kenlee to bother with a picture.... so I got a look of "really mom" instead....

Kenlee finally being able to use her sled for the first time.... poor girl got it for Christmas last year and there was never any snow to take her out in.....

After her ride in the sled Kenlee quickly started a snowball fight with Aunt T..... 

Kenlee is such a tease and a pretty good sport when hit so it was a funny snowball fight to watch...

Once the sled was abandoned Jordyn and I convinced it for Jordyn's first ride.... She LOVED it!

Kenlee even took a turn pulling the Baby.....

Then of course our day would not have been complete if we had not built Frosty..... Kenlee was so excited to finally be able to build the snowman she had been dreaming to do... It was way too cute.

Kenlee even rolled the head herself.... she was so proud...

Once our cute Frosty was built Kenlee insisted that her and Nate dance around him with there arms out singing "Frosty the snow man....."  It looked just like the scene from the movie.

It was such a good day in the snow and we hope to have many more fun snow memories by the end of the season.....  Thanks Aunt T and Uncle Nate for being good sports and playing with us!

9 Months Old

Well the time keeps flying and Jordyn is already 9 months old. At her doctors appointment her stats were not exactly what we were hoping for but she is still a healthy little girl. Her colic and acid reflux has settled out and is pretty manageable   She is still one all her meds and drops but we hope to be able to start reducing them in the next month or so.

9 Month Stats:

Weight- 16lb 5oz        10%

Height- 27in        30%

Head Measurement- 17 1/2in      55%

She is still very proportional and so she is just healthy, cute and little.

She is now able to sit herself up which she loves.... the more independent she gets the more fun she has...

In the last week or so I have noticed that she is going back to sucking on her thumb a little..... we will see how long that lasts.....

This is her newest trick....pulling to stand, which she has only been doing for less then a week.  She LOVES to stand and is already brave enough to walk the edges of furniture and let go and stand for short periods of time.

The first night we put her to bed we realized that we had to adjust her crib down.  She was way too excited about standing in her crib and I was nerves she would flip herself out....

Happy Holiday Kick Off

To start off our Christmas season we had the amazing opportunity to see The Four Seasons production of The Christmas Carol.  We actually got to go twice, once with the Daines and once my family.  Auntie April was in the production and Kenlee loved going to see her.  They whole show was spent trying to locate April in the scenes.  This has defiantly become a Christmas tradition for us.
