We kicked of the festivities this year with a group party with our friends on Tuesday the 2nd. Their are three who have birthdays the first week of February. We made cupcakes for everyone to share. We love to all get together.
Wednesday, the 3rd, we took Blake out to dinner. This is the one time of year he gets to go have steak at Texas Roadhouse. Kenlee had to get some teeth pulled the next day so we planned ahead so that she could enjoy the evening with us. This is one of our favorite traditions, the kids talk about going all year. The kids always enjoy the atmosphere and the peanuts. The line dancing in the aisle was a treat as usual. We had a great night out with the cute kids!
Thursday, the 4th, we took Blake to the movies. We had wanted to do this on his birthday but the movie times made it hard for people to come wish him happy birthday so we decided to go the day before. We went to see the Peanuts Movie. It was great. The whole theater was ours, not a soul came but us. This made it chill since we didn't have to worry about some talking and Tytan wondering a little. The Perfect Movie Experience!
Friday, the 5th, is Blake's actual birthday. The stars aligned this year and everyone was off for the day. Blake was able to take off work and the girls were out of school for parent teacher conference. We started the morning off right with a pj/donut/chocolate milk run to Lee's. Kenlee had several free donut coupons that she wasn't too excited to use from her reading rewards so we took them along.
After we had devoured all the donuts we quickly got in all our warm stuff and headed out to a fabulous morning in the snow. We dug a couple snow caves and Tytan "linebackered" every snow pile he could find.
This year's cheesecake was a duplicate of last year, which is a first in the history of our marriage. He absolutely wanted the peanut butter chocolate cheesecake. I will admit, its on of my favorites I have every made. Yummmmm!!!
While we waited for Grandma and Papa to come and open presents a balloon fight started, of course! I of course just sat back and photographed the whole thing......
And of course once the "beat" daddy down to the ground the sliding began, Tytan even lost his pants down the slide. It was hilarious....
Handsome Man!
Tytan was very concerned while we sang Happy Birthday. He didn't cry but he looked around like we were all crazy. Guess we will see what he thinks when we sing to him on his birthday in a few months. Could be interesting...
This year we got daddy a new long sleeve active shirt and the movie When the Game Stands Tall. His parents gave him some movie money. (He has a lot of movies he wants to see coming out in the next year)
The following Wednesday, the 10th, we gathered at my parents house to celebrate some of the greatest guys I know. Colton's birthday is the day before Blake's and they are so chill and let us celebrate them together. Blake got a new indoor/outdoor basketball from my parents, a iron man bobble head from Nato, movie money from Tiffany, Brock & Porter, and a collector edition magazine about the 50 years of Super Bowl from Karltonia.
Karlee made homemade chocolate pudding with homemade whip cream, it was so decadent! Mom got the fixing for ice cream sundays. What an amazing night of desserts!
We are so incredible grateful for Blake and all that he does. He brings the awesome to our lives!
