Tytan's Two Months Old

Our little man is two months old now and doing great.  He is such a happy and sweet little boy. On Wednesday the 30th he had his two month check up.  Tytan is a very strong and healthy little boy.

Stats:

Weight: 9lbs 6.5ozs     2%

Height: 23 1/3 inches   65%

Head Measurement: 15 1/3 inches   40%

As you can probably see Tytan has not even gained 2 lbs since his birth weight which was a concern that I had but after the full examination from his doctor it was decided that he is just a very lanky happy little guy.  Because it would be nice to see his weight percentage go up we decided to try to up his amount of food.  Doctor Bell said that if he puked a lot or refused to take the full amount that we didn't need to force him. He would be ready for more in his own time.  It was really comforting to hear this.  We tried increasing his formula to 2 1/2 ounces and he did great on it.  Sunday afternoon he seemed to not be able to feel comfortable for the full three hours so we increased his amount to 3 ounces and he is still doing great.

*Sleeps 8 hours almost every night

*Is a very big mamas boy....which is fine with me since the girls are obsessed with their amazing daddy

*Is very talkative with those who talk to him 

* Has begun to follow people with his eyes

*Starting to enjoy his bouncer

*Still absolutely loves to snuggle

*Is alright with bath as long as it is quick

*Actually relaxes in his car seat now and can be content traveling for the most part 

*Loves to listen/watch rattles and noise toys

*when he got his shots he didn't even cry, he turned into what we call the red hulk, then whimpered for minute til I picked him up

Family Camp 2014

For camp this year we went to Bear Lake to camp with Laretta and her kids. We went to a campsite that was just below Camp Bartlette.  It had rain a ton the day before we left for camp and the temperature was lower so when we arrived everything was pure mud.  I will now confess that I am a clean freak and controlling when it comes to how messy my kids can get.  I always tell myself that camping is really good for them and that a little dirt won't hurt them but when I realized that the first night we were there they would be swimming in mud I almost turned around and went home. Good things Blake was there.

Cheryl brought up her cute little dog up to go camping with us and Kenlee really struggled at first with having the dog there.  The dog was so sweet and won't even come near her but Kenlee still became irrational and panicked.   Poor Kenlee was traumatized when she was around 2 years old by another dog and has not been able to cope since so I wasn't really surprised but we also didn't want to have to take the dog back home.  My plan was to let her panic and watch the dog and how well behaved it was and see what she would do.  After about 2 hours she finally calmed down and realized that this particular dog was truly kind and really good with kids.  By the end of camp Kenlee was in love with the puppy and even held her a few times.  Now she tells my mom she wants her to get a little dog like Cheryl's .  It was such an amazing break through and it made me even more believe that one day we will get her a dog so she can learn to cope with a dogs.  

We spent 4 days and 3 nights camping.  The girls loved every moment of it and we had another break through but with Jordyn.  Jordyn didn't like spilling things or being messy. If she even dribbled water on her shirt she would freak out and yell "Get it off!"  After playing at camp we have not had a single freak out over a spill since.  She still doesn't like to be messy but she can handle finding the solution to fixing the mess.

Tytan's First Haircut

Tytan was beginning to really need a haircut so at 8 weeks old when I needed to cut Blake's we decided to give Tytan his first haircut. He had a really bad comb over and I joked that it was not a family trait I wanted him inheriting from Great Papa Roberts. I was really nervous because he was the youngest person I had done a haircut on but he did pretty well and just loved on Daddy most of the time.

Summer Swim Party

Since it is summer time we of course had to have at least one huge swim party. This year we decided to make it a celebration.  Pioneer Day was a perfect day for a pool party. First we attended the North Logan parade in the morning and enjoyed all of the floats and of course Nathan marching with the band. Then all of those who could join us came to my parents house and we had such a good time playing in the pool!

His swimsuit is a 0-3 month size....so it was way to big....the shorts were always falling off his tiny bum.

Poor Jordyn had had a bad run in with our bookshelf in the hall and it took off a chunk of her toe and nail so we tried to keep it dry and safe while she played.  She loved having the bag on her foot... she thought it was funny.

Off to the MTC

We had the amazing/very difficult experience of taking Brady to the MTC.  There was a lot of tears but I know that he is doing exactly what he is supposed to be doing and I couldn't be more proud of my little brother. He will be an amazing missionary and will touch the hearts of those he meets in Mesa, Arizona.

Amazing Uncle Elder Brady!

Blake and Nathan were the only boys that were available and off work to come down with us. Such handsome boys!

This is about the only kind of picture we got of all 4 kids with Brady. Jordyn was feeling extra emotional and was beyond being reasonable about taking pictures. She only likes pictures if they are her idea.

Family Hike

Before Brady received his mission call we tossed around several ideas for things to do as a family before he left but once his call arrived and we realized he had basically six weeks a lot of those ideas became impossible to pull off.  After chatting with Brady we all agreed we would just do some of our favorite family activities and traditions locally and just enjoy our time together.  One of these activities was a quick little hike up Cub River just above Willow Flats camp ground. It is easy enough that the little girls could hike it but still a lot of fun and a great water attraction.
