Kenlee's 2nd Birthday - Part 2

On Sunday the 4th we had another birthday party for Kenlee with the Daines side. Everyone was able to come and celebrate with us, which is so sweet of them. We had a wonderful family dinner and then played volleyball. After everyone had worked off there dinner we decided to do presents.

Mitch and Hannah got her a book about being a big sister and a stuffed bear with a cape and mask so she can be Batman :) She has the book read to her at least once a day.

Kenzie, Jess and Jeff got her a sweet little doll that she loves to dress up and comb its hair.

Auntie April got her the cutest Tiana figurine that plays music for her to dance to. She loves it and plays it several times a day.

Papa and Grandma got her a purple bike to ride at home. She loves it and has to take it every time we go somewhere she can ride.

After presents she got a second cake, this one was not too fancy after the trouble I had with her first red velvet cake. She thought that the sprinkles were pretty cool though. This was after she blew out the candles, she was so excited.

This birthday was so fun, I still can't believe that she is two but she is becoming more and more of an individual everyday and I love watching her getting excited about life.

Another Addition to Our Family

Surprise!!! We are having another sweet baby! I am due March 8th (which is also Blake and I's anniversary so we hope it comes a little early). We are so excited and had a hard time not telling people right away but we waited til I was almost 12 weeks along to even tell our families. This time we let Kenlee tell everyone :)

She loved her new shirt but still doesn't understand what it means.

This is the ultrasound at 11 wk 4 days. Everything looks really good and it was even kicking at us while we were watching.

I really avoided taking pictures when I was pregnant with Kenlee but now I wish I could look back and compare so I am trying it this time. This is me at 12 wks. I am now 13 wks and moving into the 2nd tri.

Kenlee's 2nd Birthday - Part 1

This last week Kenlee turned 2! Can you believe it?!? Where in the world has the time gone?

This year for her birthday she had a Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head cakes. She has really gotten into the Toy Story movies so we did something out of there. She loved them!

We had spaghetti for dinner because as far as we can tell it is one of her favorite meals (pizza is a pretty close choice too). After dinner we opened presents. At first I made her look at her dad and say cheese for a picture of her and the new item but about three gifts into it she would run up to him and yell CHEESE! Poor Blake had only a split second to take the picture or all you got was her hair whipping around.

The ones he did catch you can totally tell she is saying CHEESE. She also had to have a picture with every single item in the package, not just all her books but each one alone. She is such a funny little girl.
After she had had some time to play with all her new and wonderful toys we went back into the kitchen to sing Happy Birthday and have cake.

This year my mom found a bear cake pan just like the ones my grandmother made us for our birthdays. Kenlee loved having her own individual cake and began eating it as soon as she saw it. We are so grateful for our adventurous little girl. Hope you had a great birthday my sweetheart! Next we will party with the Daines so stay tuned for another birthday post.

Trip to the Farm/ Health Days

This last weekend was really busy but so much fun. We started out Friday by going to Bear Lake to visit my Grandpa for his Birthday and to see our family. The weather was perfect so Kenlee convinced Aunt Laretta to go outside. When we got out there Kenlee was so excited to see the cows and was doing a little dance and squealing at them. She would look at us and give us a HUGE smile then turn back to the cows and bend down so she could look at them better. It was hilarious to watch. We figure that this is really the first time she has seen the cows because she was so young last summer and when its winter you just hurry in to get out of the cold.

Then Cheryl brought Tayson to come play with Kenlee and they found the garden and decided to throw dirt at each other. It was so funny that I just kept taking pictures so thats why I did the slideshow. Those two cuties were so covered in dirt but they had a great time.

Tayson also taught Kenlee about the piano peddles :) They played so well together, no big crying fights.

Kenlee also got to see Kolin's dog. She thinks all these animals are so cool but she will not touch them. She will still get really close to them so she isn't scared of them she just thinks its weird to touch them.
On Saturday it was Smithfield's Health Days and so that morning we attended the parade. The best part was that Kenlee's buddy Tayson came to play again! Two days in a row was so awesome! Kenlee brought her purse to put candy in.

When they got tired or bored of part of the parade (cause it was a LONG parade) they would go and sit on the curb. Of course they were too cute to resist taking pictures of so I took more :)
After the parade Kenlee and I went to a bridal shower for Hannah (my soon to be sister-in-law). She got to see her cousin Kenz and Aunt Jess who live down in Lehi, we are always glad when they come up to play.

Easter 2011

We had so much fun with Easter this year. Kenlee loved hunting eggs and was quite the pro at it too. I had sooooo many pictures that I loved so I tried this new slide show thing. Hope you like it :)

Spring Updates

I know that I haven't posted much over the winter but I wanted to do a spring update of our resent activities. Kenlee loves to be creative whether it is coloring or dancing so I decided to be brave and try playdough. It was really fun actually, I just made sure that she had a binky so that she would hopefully not end up putting some in her mouth. She thought it was very weird stuff but once I showed her what it was for she really got into it. Near the end she started throwing it and yelling "ball" so we put it away.

We have discovered that she LOVES the outdoors. She would live outside if we would let her. I am pretty sure that when the weather finally warms up that we are going to have a hard time keeping her in. One of the few days that the weather was good we took her to the park. She had a blast. She spent the first 15 minutes trying to climb the slide that was almost straight up. The funny thing is she almost made it! She has some major buff little legs, must get that from her dad not me :) We sent her down the long twisted slide by herself and she yelled "WEEEEE!!!" the whole way down. She would run back up the stairs and want to go again and again.

Another thing that I am trying to let her help me with is cooking. This was our first attempt and it went pretty good. We made dad some brownies for dessert. When I grabbed the camera she looked around and then stuck her finger in the mix when she thought I wasn't looking.

Then she realized she had been caught and so she turned on the cute. She stuck her finger in her mouth and smiling said mmmmmm.... :) she is so funny!

That's the beginning of our spring and I promise I will be better about posting.

Kenlee's 18 Month Mark

Kenlee was 18 months old on Saturday, crazy right? She has been growing so much. She attended nursery for the first time on Sunday and did very well. The leaders said she was super quite but I bet she grows out of that one. She LOVES books. She loves to do puzzles and to play with her fisher price doll house. She loves ring-around-the-rosies. Some of the words she says are: puppy, baby, mommy, daddy, mama (grandma), papy (grandpa), shoes, ball, cheese, teef (teeth). She loves to be like Mommy and Daddy. She wants to bring her purse when we go places and wants to tie a tie while daddy gets his on for work. Her daddy is her best buddy and mommy's big helper.

She is little miss sassy.

But she loves to smile!
